Tots Gymnastics

Tots Gymnastics

Ages 2 to 5

The Jungle Gym
Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy

Our youngest athletes get a room of their own. Tots classes run in the Jungle Gym, filled with equipment sized for little bodies, and the curriculum is built around developmental milestones rather than skill level. That means you enroll by age, and our coaches adjust up or down for each kiddo in the room.

  • 2s  ·  A parent-participation class focused on balance, body awareness, core strength and hand-eye coordination.
  • 3s  ·  The first independent class. No parents on the floor, and a big focus on listening, resilience and confidence in a group.
  • 4s  ·  Real gymnastics foundations begin here, with skill stations, flexibility work and technique.
  • Mighty Shots  ·  For 5-year-olds getting ready to move from the Jungle Gym into the big gym, with hands-on spotting and drills.
  • Mighty Ninja  ·  Ages 4 and 5, held in the big gym on our ninja cage. Climbing, swinging, jumping and balancing.
Nice perk: every Tots class includes one free Playmania visit per week for the enrolled student. Check the Open Play page for the current schedule.

Recreational Gymnastics

Recreational Gymnastics

Ages 5¾ and up

6 progressive levels
Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy

This is our girls’ recreational program, and it is where most gymnasts spend their first few years in the sport. Athletes work through six levels in the main gym, moving up as coaches recommend advancement rather than on a fixed timeline. No experience needed to start, and there is no pressure to compete.

If your gymnast has been in classes elsewhere, or you are not sure which level fits, request a level assessment and our coaching staff will place her correctly before the session starts.

Ninja

Ninja

Ages 4 to 12

Co-ed
4 class levels
Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy

Our fastest-filling program, and it is easy to see why. Ninja classes are co-ed, obstacle-based, and run on a state-of-the-art ninja cage with a warped wall, hanging obstacles and balance challenges. Every class includes a dynamic warmup, air awareness and trampoline work, then focused circuits on the cage.

  • Mighty Ninja  ·  Ages 4 and 5. An introduction to climbing, jumping, swinging and balancing.
  • Intro to Ninja  ·  Ages 6 to 12. Fundamentals of balancing, rolling and swinging, plus strength and agility.
  • Ninja 1  ·  Ages 7 to 12, with Intro to Ninja as the prerequisite. Endurance, strength and problem solving.
  • Ninja 2  ·  Ages 10 and up, for athletes who have completed Ninja 1. Complex obstacle combinations and elite-level technique.

Bailey’s Sports: Tumbling & Cheer

Round-offs, back handsprings, and everything past that. All tumbling classes are co-ed and run at our dedicated Tumbling & Cheer facility, where coaches build technique step by step across six levels. Athletes start with forward rolls and cartwheels and work toward connected twisting passes.

Tumbling is a strong fit for cheer athletes who want extra floor time, gymnasts working on specific skills, and kids who simply want to learn to flip. All backgrounds welcome, and beginners are always placed with beginners.

Ages 5 to 13

Two program paths
Bailey’s Sports: Tumbling & Cheer

Cheer runs on its own season calendar, so the dates here are different from our weekly classes. Fall Rec Cheer runs September 14 through December 4, an 11-week season at $449, and enrollment closes August 24. That is the tightest deadline on this page.

  • Mini Squad  ·  Ages 5 to 8. One 90-minute practice each week.
  • Junior Squad  ·  Ages 9 to 13. One 90-minute practice each week.

Athletes learn motions, jumps, sideline cheers, beginning stunts, basic tumbling and choreography. Every season ends with a showcase performance for family and friends, plus a community sideline performance at a local Central Oregon sporting event. Registration includes weekly coaching and a custom Bailey’s Sports Cheer performance shirt.

For athletes ready to compete year-round, our Impulse Elite All Star Cheer program offers Prep and Elite teams. Those require a tryout.

Not Sure Which Program Fits?

The honest answer is that most kids could thrive in more than one of these. A few questions that usually sort it out:

How old is your athlete?

Under 6, start with Tots Gymnastics or Mighty Ninja. Ages 6 and up open the door to Rec Gymnastics, Ninja, Tumbling and Cheer.

Do they want structure or do they want to move?

Rec Gymnastics and Tumbling are progression-based, with clear levels and specific skills to earn. Ninja is more open-ended, obstacle-driven and competitive in a playful way. Cheer sits in the middle, with a team, a routine and a performance date on the calendar.

How much time do you have?

Weekly classes are one session per week and you can enroll any time, pending availability. Rec Cheer is a season commitment with a fixed start and end date.

Still stuck? Request a level assessment or just send us a note. Our coaches place hundreds of kids each season and are happy to talk through the right starting point for yours. Visit our Contact & Level Assessments page.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do fall classes start?
Weekly classes for Tots Gymnastics, Recreational Gymnastics, Ninja and Tumbling begin Tuesday, September 1. Rec Cheer’s fall season starts September 14.

Is there a deadline to enroll?
Weekly classes have open enrollment, so you can join any time as long as there is space. Rec Cheer is different: fall squad enrollment closes August 24 and does not reopen until the winter season.

Does my child need experience?
No. Every program has a true beginner entry point, and beginners are grouped with beginners. If your athlete has trained before, request a level assessment so we can place them correctly.

Where do classes meet?
Tots Gymnastics, Recreational Gymnastics and Ninja run at Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy, 63060 Layton Ave, Bend. Tumbling and all Cheer programs run at Bailey’s Sports: Tumbling & Cheer, 63625 Old Deschutes Rd, Bend.

How is tuition billed?
Weekly class tuition is billed monthly and auto-charged on the 1st. Your first month is prorated based on your registration date. Full details are on our Tuition Policies page.

Can my child do more than one program?
Absolutely, and plenty do. Tumbling plus Cheer is a common pairing, as is Rec Gymnastics plus Ninja. Just watch the schedule so practices do not overlap.
