Our USA Gymnastics Developmental Competitive Team and Xcel program give dedicated gymnasts a path to train and compete together at the highest level our gym offers.
Two team pathways, one standard of excellence.
Once athletes have built the strength, skill, and consistency required through our Pre-Team pathway, they move into one of two team programs: our Developmental Team and our Xcel Team, two USA Gymnastics competitive pathways. Placement on both Developmental Team and Xcel Team is invitation-only, and both deliver the full team experience.
Both pathways emphasize strong fundamentals, steady skill progression, and the discipline and teamwork that come with training and competing as part of a team.

Developmental Team & Xcel Program
Two competitive pathways: Developmental Team and Xcel Team. Both are built around team training and competition, with placement based on coach evaluation rather than enrollment order.
Our USA Gymnastics Developmental Team is invitation only. We typically move athletes up to the team level once per year, at the beginning of our competitive season in late May – early June.
The skills required for Developmental Team are far more advanced than in our recreational classes, and it may take some athletes a couple of years of Advanced & Pre-Team recreational gymnastics to perfect the skills, strength, and flexibility necessary for our Developmental Team.

We are excited to offer the Xcel Competitive Program as an additional and now expanded pathway within our team structure. Developed by USA Gymnastics, Xcel is designed to provide a positive and rewarding competitive experience while allowing for greater flexibility in training and performance.
Athletes are able to compete routines that reflect their individual strengths while continuing to develop new skills at an appropriate pace — a great fit for athletes who want to be part of a team and compete while maintaining a more balanced schedule.

With our expanded Xcel program, every athlete who wants to compete in gymnastics has a path to do it, one that fits their schedule and goals.
