An indoor skatepark is coming to Bend, in two phases.
Central Oregon has wanted a real indoor skatepark for a long time. Here is how we are getting there, and why our new complex on N Highway 97 is the first domino.
A skatepark inside the gym on Layton Ave.
Phase 1 of the Bailey’s Sports Complex opens this winter. Once Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy moves into the new multi-sport facility, we will begin building out a skatepark inside the existing gym on Layton Ave, giving Bend riders an indoor place to session while the rest of the campus comes together.
The full indoor skatepark at the complex.
Once the Layton Ave build is finished, construction begins on the Phase 2 indoor skatepark, built right next to Bailey’s Sports as part of the complex. That is the one this community has been asking for: a true indoor park to ride year round, no matter the weather.
In the meantime, camps stay outdoors. Every Truckstop Action Sports camp and clinic runs at Ponderosa Skatepark until the indoor space is ready. Follow the project for construction updates.
